China warns of potential conflict with US amid diplomatic tensions

China’s foreign minister has warned of potential conflict with the United States – declaring that a policy of “all out containment and suppression” was a “zero sum game”.

In his first press conference since taking on the job, Qin Gang said China’s close ties with Russia were a model for global foreign relations. It follows rising tension over Taiwan – and the US shooting down of a Chinese spy balloon which had flown into its airspace.
