China’s parliament approves controversial Hong Kong security law

The British government has expressed its deep concern over the endorsement of a new security law for Hong Kong by the Chinese National People’s Assembly in Beijing.

Foreign Secretary Dominic Raab said if China implements the law in Hong Kong, Britain will change the visa status of over 300,000 people with British National Overseas passports, allowing them to come to the UK for up to 12 months, and possibly seek citizenship here.
