Climate activists in Germany occupy coal mine in fossil fuel protest

Hundreds of climate change activists in Germany have temporarily occupied an open-cast coalmine in protest over the use of fossil fuels.

Police cleared the site, saying it was not safe, but many protestors resisted attempts to remove them and have accused the police of heavy-handedness.
