Amongst celebrity campaigners who joined the London march were Emma Thompson (see Vine, above), Peter Gabriel and Vivienne Westwood. They joined more than a thousand people demonstrating ahead of a UN climate change summit this week.

Protests have also been taking place across the world, in cities including New York, Istanbul, and New Delhi.

Among celebrities out in New York, where the UN climate summit is being held, was Leonardo DiCaprio who joined Ban Ki-moon in saying that now is the “pivotal turning point” in the battle against climate change (see video, above)
