Climate crisis: Could scientists refreeze the Arctic?

The flash floods, the wildfires, the lightning strikes and the extreme weather that’s swept much of the world over the last month is prompting fears that climate change is accelerating at a pace faster than ever anticipated.

Concerns amplified in a report by some of the world’s top climate experts, which has been shared with this programme.

The Climate Crisis Advisory Group, set up by Sir David King, says that the warming of the Arctic contributes to record breaking heat and rainfall we are seeing.

But could scientists manage to reverse engineer the climate crisis and refreeze the ice caps?
