Closed ski resorts in Scotland see best snow in years

The UK recorded the coldest night since 2010 last night with temperatures plummeting to -16.7C at Altnaharra in northern Scotland.

It has been a very snowy winter for Scotland so far, drawing comparisons with the big freeze of a decade ago. That is deeply frustrating for staff at its ski centres, which have been forced to remain closed during the lockdown.
