Coastal erosion in Nigeria leaves communities fearing their homes will disappear

The continent of Africa is on the frontline of the climate emergency, but all too often it has the quietest voice at the table when pressing for global changes.

In Nigeria, climate change is now an everyday reality for the most populous country on the continent.

Rising sea levels and more frequent heavy storms are washing away whole communities and taking with it the hope and dreams of a generation.

While desertification is forcing people to leave their homes.

We visited Alpha Beach, just south of Lagos, to see how people are fighting to keep their homes.
