Commonwealth leaders call on UK to discuss slavery reparations

Commonwealth leaders gathering for their heads of government meeting in Samoa have called on the Prime Minister to begin discussions on compensation for Britain’s historic role in the trans-Atlantic slave trade.

A group of mainly Caribbean nations has called for time to be made for discussions on the subject of reparations, despite the UK government saying the issue wouldn’t be on the agenda.
