Commonwealth leaders gather at the palace

The leaders of Commonwealth nations are just arriving for a dinner hosted by the Queen at Buckingham Palace.

Earlier today she welcomed them to the biannual Commonwealth Heads of Government meeting at a time when the Windrush scandal has filled the headlines with news about British citizens refused medical treatment, denied jobs, and falling into depression. All this came after realising the rights and status they thought they had simply didn’t exist.
