It’s been hailed as a landmark piece of legislation for England and Wales, welcomed by politicians on all sides. But three years after it was promised, the Domestic Abuse Act has still not been made into law.
Tonight, the soon-to-be Domestic Abuse Commissioner has told this programme there are still questions about where the millions of pounds needed to support it will come from.
And she warns that without that funding, some of the most vulnerable people – in particular children – may not get the protection they need.
