Corbyn promises to challenge “economic orthadoxy” of austerity

Jeremy Corbyn has told cheering crowds at the Durham Miners’ Gala that he would challenge the “economic orthodoxy” of austerity – and take on Donald Trump over climate change – if he was in Number 10.

Mr Corbyn declared he was leading a government in waiting – but that would only happen if the party stayed united. And he wouldn’t be drawn over claims that some MPs who’d criticised his leadership weren’t invited to the event.
