Coronation: Andrew Lloyd Webber on composing anthem and remembering his son

The King has commissioned 12 new pieces of music for his coronation, among them an anthem by West End impresario Andrew Lloyd Webber.

It’s perhaps the biggest stage for a musician for whom the world has at one time or another been a stage.

We spoke to him about a moment of national celebration and mourning the death – just a few weeks ago – of his son, Nick, from cancer.
