Coronavirus crisis: Charity fears student care leavers face isolation

With universities closed across the country, many students are now spending lockdown in the relative comfort of their family home.

But what happens to those students who spent time in care or are estranged from their family – who have no home to go to – now facing new challenges when they’ve already been through so much.

A new survey by the charity Become says around two thirds are now concerned about paying their rent and bills and many are struggling with new levels of loneliness and isolation. Our social affairs editor Jackie Long reports.
