Coronavirus death toll passes 1,600 as 69,000 infected worldwide – as 350 cruise passengers in Japan now infected

The number of deaths from the coronavirus outbreak has passed 1,600 in China. 69,000 people have been infected worldwide.

In Japan, more than 350 passengers aboard a cruise ship have now been infected.

As the United States and other nations begin to evacuate their citizens from the Diamond Princess, some British passengers have complained they feel abandoned.
