Could child benefit be extended to give support to middle income families?

The Chancellor Jeremy Hunt is considering whether to extend child benefit to hundreds of thousands more families in his spring budget – to give direct support to middle income families.

According to reports – he’s looking into raising the £50,000 income threshold above which the payment starts being tapered out.
