Covid-19: Travellers from China required to show negative test to enter UK

The Health Secretary has said the UK was taking a “balanced and precautionary approach” after the government announced travellers from China would need to show a negative Covid-19 test from next Thursday.

Chinese President Xi Jinping said China was entering a “new phase” in its policy on Covid, while infections have surged in the country after tight restrictions were lifted.

The UK government said China had failed to fully share information on the situation.
