How many people really died from Covid in the first two years of the pandemic?
The World Health Organisation has published new data which suggests 15 million more people may have died than would have been expected.
Too many countries, they said, had underestimated or undercounted their deaths.
But there were objections to the data, not least from India who described claims that they had more than 4.7 million excess deaths during the pandemic as flawed.
