Covid infection rate rises in Oldham prompt fears of further lockdown restrictions

Oldham is on the brink of a full lockdown tonight with the weekly infection rate rising. Like the rest of Greater Manchester, some restrictions were reintroduced on 30 July.

Despite intensive efforts to stop transmission, nearly 250,000 people face the prospect of further restrictions.
