Covid Inquiry: Boris Johnson ‘suggested medieval measures’ to tackle pandemic

Boris Johnson’s former chief of staff has confirmed to the Covid Inquiry that early in the pandemic the then-prime minister offered to be injected with virus on television, to show it did not pose a threat.

The inquiry also heard that he referred to “whiskey and a revolver” and spoke about “medieval measures” to tackle the pandemic at a meeting with officials.
