Covid Inquiry: Dame Sally Davies apologises to bereaved families

The former Chief Medical Officer Dame Sally Davies told the Covid Inquiry today that a generation of children have been damaged by the pandemic.

She said the government failed to plan properly and under-investment left the NHS unprepared – in contrast to former chancellor George Osborne who had earlier denied his austerity measures negatively impacted the UK’s ability to cope.
