Covid Inquiry: Top scientists ‘never told’ about Eat Out to Help Out scheme

Professor Sir Chris Whitty has told the Covid Inquiry he was never told about the Eat Out to Help Out scheme, despite Boris Johnson and Rishi Sunak saying the country’s top scientists were consulted.

England’s Chief Medical Officer was giving evidence for a second day, followed by his former deputy Professor Sir Jonathan Van-Tam. He revealed how his family had received threats and abuse from people who objected to lockdown measures.
