Covid: UK first to approve vaccine targeting two variants

Britain has become the first country in the world to authorise a new Covid vaccine which protects against the new Omicron variant as well as the original virus.

The upgraded Moderna jab, known as a bivalent vaccine, should be available to adults as a booster jab in the autumn.
