Covid: Wales announces new restrictions to counter Omicron

Covid cases across the UK have risen to another record high for the third day running.

Just over 93,000 new cases were reported in the last 24 hours,  up by 39% compared to last week.

The cabinet’s emergency Cobra committee will meet this weekend, but Wales has already announced new restrictions as part of a “two-phase plan”.
