Covid: Warning vaccines are weakening link but not breaking link with virus

The latest 24-hour government figures for the UK show that the number of new Covid cases rose by more than 27,000.

The number of fatalities remains low with a further nine people reported to have died with Covid.

However, there seems to be a jump in the number of new patients in hospital, which was up by 358, bringing the total number of Covid patients in hospital to 1,905 which is the highest number since early February.
