Cuts to Arts budget ‘attack on the people of Suffolk’ say campaigners

Arts organisations across Suffolk are reeling after the County Council said budget cuts meant from next year it would stop all core funding to Suffolk’s art and museum sector.

Campaigners say the impact of saving half a million pounds in this way will be outweighed by the social cost to disabled people and the elderly.

Councillors say they have no choice.
