Daily Covid cases rising with experts fearing the impact of lifting Covid restrictions

The latest 24-hour government figures for the UK highlight the rapid spread of the virus again. The number of new Covid cases jumped by more than 32,000, the highest daily rise in confirmed cases since 20 January. A further 33 people are reported to have died within 28 days of having Covid, and the number of new admissions to hospital is 386, which brings the total number of Covid patients in hospital to 2,446 – that’s up 44 per cent in a week.
