Debate: Could Boris Johnson make a comeback in 2022?

The prime minister may be pleased to see the back of 2021, but he goes into the new year assailed by challenges.

He appears to have been weakened by a series of controversies, a bruising by-election defeat in North Shropshire and a huge rebellion from his own MPs over new Covid restrictions.

He also faces a more confident Labour leader currently enjoying the party’s largest poll lead for years.

So what does 2022 have in store for British politics?

We discussed that with political commentators from left and right, Ayesha Hazarika and Fraser Nelson.
