‘Digital strip search’ forms withdrawn by police forces in England and Wales

Police forces in England and Wales are to replace controversial consent forms for rape complainants referred to as “digital strip searches”.

The move follows a ruling by the information watchdog that “excessive amounts of personal data” were often extracted without reasonable grounds.
