Doctors begin 72-hour strike over pay

It’s no coincidence that the next three days of the Conservative Party Conference will also see the biggest walkout by NHS doctors in history.

Both junior doctors and consultants started their 72 hours of industrial action at 7am, and they’ll be joined tomorrow by radiographers.

They say they won’t stop until the government makes a credible offer on pay. But the government says it won’t negotiate unless strikes are suspended.
