Doctors fear serious conditions could go untreated

It is the government’s mantra – “stay at home”.

But NHS medical staff are urging some people not to stay at home – if they suspect they have a serious illness like cancer or heart disease.

Doctors are worried that with routine operations cancelled or postponed – and people frightened to come near hospitals – serious conditions could go untreated or undiagnosed, adding to the deadly impact of the virus.
