Donald Trump ordered to pay $83m in E. Jean Carroll defamation case

Donald Trump has said he will appeal after being ordered to pay $83 million- or more than £65 million – to advice columnist E. Jean Carroll.

Last May, a jury in a civil case found the former US president had sexually assaulted her in a New York department store in the 1990s.

Now another New York jury has decided how much compensation he should pay Ms Carroll for defaming her by denying the assault took place.
