The war with Russia is far from over but Ukraine received a boost from the European Union which has finally approved its 50 billion Euro aid package – providing Kyiv with economic and financial support in the long-term.
Hungary’s prime minister Viktor Orban was persuaded to drop his objections after a series of last-ditch meetings with European leaders – giving the deal the unanimous support it required. President Zelenskyy said the decision showed the EU’s “strong unity”.
