EU Commission President rules out full UK trade deal in 2020

Brexit was back on the agenda today as the Prime Minister welcomed the new President of the European Commission to Number 10.

Ursula von der Leyen brought a message of both warmth and a reality check emphasising both her love for Britain and the hard choices ahead.

But Boris Johnson again reiterated that the negotiations could not extend beyond the end of the year.
