European Council meets for first time since elections

Brussels was back in business today with the first meeting of the European Council since the Euro elections last month.

The most urgent task is to appoint the new President of the Commission, the successor to Jean Claude Juncker and other top jobs. But Berlin and Paris, usually the dynamic duo at the heart of Europe have fallen out over who to appoint.

And as for renegotiating the Brexit Withdrawl Agreement, the message is: fat chance.
