Exclusive: Greater Manchester Police accused of making woman who reported rape feel ‘worthless’

Among the many damning criticisms in her report last year, Dame Louise Casey described the Met Police as institutionally sexist and misogynistic.

Later this year – a report will be published on another of the UK’s biggest police forces.

Dame Vera Baird is expected to make serious criticisms of Greater Manchester Police over their treatment of women in custody.

But this programme has heard from women who say a wider investigation is needed into the police force.

They say there’s a ‘boys club culture’ – and raise questions about the way women are treated when they make complaints about the force.
