Exclusive: Met Police pay six figure sum and apologise to student injured by police baton during protest

Channel 4 News can exclusively reveal the Metropolitan Police has paid out a six figure sum in compensation to a student who was smashed over the head with a police baton during violent demonstrations in Westminster thirteen years ago.

The force has also apologised to Alfie Meadows saying the strike which nearly killed him was ‘unjustified and dangerous’, but the officer who dealt the blow has never been identified.
