Facebook removes fake accounts targeting UK politics linked to Iran

Facebook has taken down hundreds of fake accounts, groups and pages which were targeting British politics, in what MPs have warned is just the “tip of the iceberg”. An investigation by the social network said it had identified around 650 accounts linked to Iran, posing as grassroots campaigners or news organisations, sharing posts on issues like Brexit, Jeremy Corbyn and Boris Johnson.
