Farmers fear crops could be left to rot without seasonal workers to pick them

We have all seen the empty supermarket shelves and the promises that the UK’s food supply chain will be able to cope.

But for fresh produce to reach the shelves – farmers need to pick it. And without the usual seasonal workers who come here from abroad – many fear that vitally needed crops could be left to rot in the fields.
