Farmers heckle Environment Secretary during speech

The Environment Secretary has been met by a barrage of tractor horns and heckling farmers as he gave a speech on reforming the agricultural sector.

Steve Reed wanted to speak about reforms aimed at boosting profitability by backing British produce and creating fairer supply chains in his speech at the Oxford Farming Conference.

But anger over measures in last year’s Budget, including introducing inheritance tax on farm businesses worth more than £1 million, overshadowed the announcement.
