Farmers to be rewarded for actions they take to improve environment in post-Brexit agreement

There’s been a cautious welcome from farmers and environmentalists for the latest phase of government plans to boost sustainable farming and restore nature.

Intended to replace the EU Common Agricultural Policy, which paid farmers according to the size of their farms, the new regime – which has been years in the making – is intended to reward farmers for the actions they take to improve the environment.
