Farmland in England could be cut by 9% to meet green targets

The Government has launched a new consultation, to map out which parts of the UK countryside should be protected from housing, solar panels or onshore wind farms.

Estimates show around 9% of agricultural land will need to be repurposed to meet green targets – which might cause some concern to farmers.
