Fears Dorian deaths could reach ‘staggering’ levels

The United Nations has warned that more than 70,000 people in the Bahamas are in need of “immediate life-saving” help in the wake of Hurricane Dorian.

Officials have warned the number of dead could be “staggering”, with large areas left virtually uninhabitable.

Aid workers and rescue teams are still struggling to reach the worst hit areas, hampered by the flood waters and limited access.
