Former BHS owner Dominic Chappell appears in court

Washington Correspondent

The former British Home Stores owner Dominic Chappell has been accused of failing to give investigators information about the firm’s pension schemes, after it went into administration with the loss of thousands of jobs. Mr Chappell bought the ailing retailer from Sir Philip Green for just £1, but when it collapsed, the firm left a £571 million pension deficit. He denies three charges of neglecting or refusing to provide information to the pension regulator.
