Former diplomat detained in China

Now to new developments in the troubled recent history of Chinese tech giant Huawei, which is one of the world’s leading smartphone manufacturers.

Last week the company’s chief financial officer Meng Wanzhou was detained in Canada after the US demanded her extradition. That followed a number of countries effectively blocking the use of Huawei’s 5G products over national security concerns.

Now a Canadian former diplomat has been detained in China in what some are saying is a a tit-for-tat arrest.
