Four children survive five weeks stranded in Amazon rainforest

Four children have been found alive in the Colombian Amazon, forty days after the plane they were travelling in crashed into the jungle. The country’s president called their rescue ‘a joy for the whole country.’

The children’s mother and two pilots were killed when their light aircraft went down the beginning of May – prompting a huge rescue operation to find the youngsters.
