Germany increases security after far-right killings

Hundreds of people have gathered at mosques for Friday prayers in the German town of Hanau – two days after the deadly shooting attack.

Nine people, all with an immigrant background, were murdered by a 43-year-old man who had posted racist material online.

The country’s interior minister said police protection at mosques and other potentially vulnerable sites would be increased – warning that the “blood stains of extremism are trailing across Germany”.
