It was to have been a leafy vista spanning the river Thames. But the garden bridge has finally been scrapped after the Trust behind the scheme said it couldn’t go ahead without public cash. It blamed the London Mayor Sadiq Khan for failing to support it, but he hit back saying Londoners should be “very angry” that more than 30 million pounds had already been spent on the scheme.
