Google accused of placing adverts on adult entertainment and sanctioned companies’ websites

The Royal Air Force and Save the Children have pulled their adverts from Google’s search partner network, this programme has discovered – after their ads were among those found across sanctioned and adult websites. Several other major companies have also launched investigations.

Google’s network is supposed to give companies a wider reach for their adverts – but firms have little or no control over where they appear.

The tech giant is now facing questions over adverts which have popped up on sanctioned Iranian and Russian sites – as Symeon Brown reports.
