GOP crisis: McCarthy failing to convince Republicans after five Speaker votes

In the US, the House of Representatives has resumed its attempts to elect a Speaker of the House.

Yesterday Republican Kevin McCarthy failed in his bid for the job when 20 members of his own party voted against him. Now all eyes are on the Republican party to end the infighting and get on with the business of government.
