Since the pandemic began, former prime minister Gordon Brown has become one of the world’s leading campaigners for health and vaccine equity, working with the World Health Organization to persuade wealthy nations to share stocks of Covid vaccines with poorer nations.
He condemns what he has called “a huge moral lapse on the part of the world”.
We spoke to him and began by asking him what it says about the world that we have done so little to save lives in other countries.
